S/390 is a hardware architecture, not an operating system.

And Debian runs on it. :-)

Hi bloodkiller

When I take a look at the debian mailing list rules, I see that for
posting advertisments or spam to one of the lists you get charged US$
5000.-.

Seriously: It's a good sign for debian, when newbies start asking
questions in the mailing lists. This means, that the distribution is
successful and that we get new users using the REAL THING (TM). Isn't
the nice thing about linux, that everyone can participate and that you
always get a helping hand out in the community?

If you really want to use something, that's just for a little elite of
specialists, why don't you use AIX, s390 or even better a little cray,
to say one of this big irons... This way you can make sure, that you're
not surrounded by converted DAUs, but only high paid specialists, that
went to incredible expensive trainings.

Enough flaming for today. Anyway, this list should not be the place for
this, but I could not hold back...

Dont worry Ivo, debian's users are always dorks and lame people who
doesnt know even how to install a simple package (poor than those rpm..)

A tip:

Put debian's cd in trashcan and buy windows xp x or you can do
other thing... more bether...

Download linux Gentoo. and learn how to do the things GOOD, not like
redhat, debian, or mandrake...

Have a nice day

Have you been installing stuff from experimental again?

See bug #162175.
