Yes. the ^I Tabs have been removed... However, it does not explain the below.. The host name does not appear in smb.conf It is a Win2000 Professional laptop on the same network. The master browser is who keeps your subnet's name list. Kind of like the sub-nets DNS server for smb/nmb... Note: Setting samba to participate in master browser elections is a bad idea as it sometimes mucks up the network..
