Re: security.debian.org down, mirror needed

2002-11-20 Thread Andreas

dear all,

I also have a own machine and free bandwidth
(big ISP - several 155MBits).
But I've absolutely no idea how to set up a mirror.

Is an anonymous-ftp enough? - If I can give some
help to the community I'd like to - but need some
advise.

best regards,
Andreas

Apologies.

ftp://download.xs4all.nl/pub/debian-security/

is a mirror, too. The question still remains on what will happen for
*future* security releases.

http: and ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de:/pub/linux/debian-security/
is an inofficial/internal mirror of security.debian.org.

The last sucessful sync was on the 18th, after that the connection
limit blocked the update.

We (here, at Czech Republic) have debian-security mirror hosted at
ftp://ftp.sh.cvut.cz/debian-security. Hope it helps & folks from CVUT
won't kill me because of traffic :)

Bye.

security.debian.org down, mirror needed

2002-11-20 Thread Richard van den Berg

security.debian.org is hosted by the University of Twente in The
Netherlands (www.utwente.nl). Their data center caught fire a few hours
ago. As a result their class B (130.89.0.0/16) disappeared from the
internet. A news article mentions that most servers and infrastructure
has been distroyed.

Is it possible to set up a mirror somewhere for the time being?
