Welcome to the team! I've just added you as a "Maintainer" to the salsa org.

Thank you for your contributions!

Hi there,

I'm working on the pkg-security packages for a while now with samueloph
and I think it's time to officially request to join the salsa team. I
have packaged brutespray [1], dhcpig [2], doona [3], nasty [4],
onesixtyone [5], scapy [6] and smbmap [7].

To quote myself in a RFS from a while ago [8]:

Oh, also I've became a DM in the meantime and I'm applying for DD now.

Cheers,
Charles

I see that someone already gave you "Maintainer"[0] access on the

[0] Gitlab's "Maintainer" access level, which is the access that DDs

Hi Team!

My name is David Polverari, and I work with offensive security in the
Brazilian Army. I have worked with and been mentored by both Eriberto
and Thiago Andrade, and for the last two years I have maintained my own
packages as a DM [1], and recently have become a DD.

I have already introduced three packages to the Team: firewalk [1],
readpe [2], and snowdrop [3]. I would like to join the team to help as
much as I can with the maintenance of existing packages, and introduce
others that exist on Kali but not yet on Debian, especially those in C
and Python.

That's nice, I know we have lots of users interested in deepin
packages, especially the GUI ones.

Cool, let us know if/when you need a reviewer/sponsor for dirsearch,
we'd be happy to help. You can keep an eye on this list to see how we
work (we generally have a low volume of emails).

> My Salsa username is: claystan
> https://salsa.debian.org/claystan

Ack, we don't have a strong definition of "being part of the team", so
being in the team's salsa group is not a requirement for being part of
the team.

Generally speaking, the way it goes is that newcomers to Debian/team
start by helping/maintaining a package, this is gonna lead to this
person getting permission to push to that repo under the team. After a
while, and depending on the person's goals (sometimes one just wants
to maintain their own packages), they get added to the team, thus
receiving permission to push to other repos as well.

In the case of dirsearch, we can set up a repo under the team's org on
Salsa and give you permission to push. My recommendation is that we do
that after the first review of your packaging, just to have more
flexibility in the way the repo is set up before moving to the team's
org (since we can always reset the repo under your user, if needed).

Welcome!

Ah, pity. So I changed your status to "owner" because you are the most

Makes sense, I had the impression we would have some role in the group
for newcomers, apparently there's guest but then there's no point in
adding people to it (no difference between that and not being in the
group).

So to try to summarize our approach to the salsa group/org: We can add
people to it once they have made a few contributions and we're
confident that they can have permissions to push to any repo we own.

I'm sure Guilherme is gonna be fine with it, since he's looking for
help on improving his packaging skills anyway.

That's only for salsa projects, for Salsa groups this is limited to the Owners.

I can confirm I don't have any option to add people to the group, but
I agree it's best to wait a little bit before adding Guilherme so it's
all fine.

Thank you.

I think it's a bit early to grant access to all repositories to Guilherme.
At least for me because I have not reviewed anything from him.

You have "maintainer" rights on the team as do all DD so you can add team
members on your own. So if you are happy with granting team rights to
Guilherme, please do it on your own.

See https://salsa.debian.org/help/user/permissions.md#permissions for
the documentation showing that "Maintainer" is enough for "Add new team
members".

Please use the "developer" role when you add non-DD to the team. Keep
"maintainer" for long-term trusted members.

Check by yourself that you can effectively invite other persons in the
team via https://salsa.debian.org/groups/pkg-security-team/-/group_members

Thank you!

I've packaged nearly all the package that exist in Kali but not in Debian.

Here's a list...
Some of them are not related to security and are simply newer version
than exist in Debian. For Buster...

The name Ruby and Python are folder than contains some Python and Ruby
dependency.

It's not only a thing about packaging the software.
There's also some stuff related to license related.

Request to join the team

2021-07-25 Thread Guilherme Xavier
Hello,

My name is Guilherme Xavier, I've been a Debian user for over 15 years and
for a few years I've been studying a lot about packaging in Debian. I've
done some QA work and now I'm looking to bring some new packages to Debian
more precisely related to security.

I am packaging the "Seclists" from Kali (https://pkg.kali.org/pkg/seclists)
for Debian and I would like to be part of the team if possible. I am being
mentored during the packaging by Samuel Henrique who has given me many tips
during the process. I also request the creation of the package repository
in salsa. I hope I can help the team.

Welcome in the team!

You have been added to the pkg-security-team in salsa.debian.org.

Cheers,

Request to join the team

2021-04-26 Thread Arnaud Rebillout

Hi Team!

I'd like to join.

I've been working as a Kali Linux developer for a few months now. Part
of my job includes maintaining packages.

So in the upcoming weeks and months, I would expect to help maintaining
packages in Debian-security, and also help to review and maintain
incoming packages. For example, I will probably get started with [1] and
[2].

Apart from that, I've been a Debian Maintainer for 2 or 3 years, mostly
working with the Go packaging team. See [3] for my status.

Thanks,

  Arnaud

You have been added to the team. Welcome!

You have the developer profile so you can contribute to existing projects
but you will still need our help to create a new gitlab project.

Dear security tools team,

having talked to Samuel Henrique, he has been my mentor and helped me introduce
some packages to the team (bruteforce-wallet and stegcracker), so I would like
to join the team to help in any way possible,

if necessary, my salsa username is fvcr.

Welcome! You have been added to the salsa group. Have a look at
https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/pkg-security to learn about
the few team policies.

Hi,

Having chatted with Sebastian at FOSDEM, I thought I could help maintain
radare and friends, so I’d like to join the team for this purpose.

Thanks for considering this.
