How to compile kernel 2.0.35 on Sparc?
Hi all, I need to compile a 2.0.35 kernel on a Sparc SLC for several reasons: - a patch for swapping over NFS exists only for this version - the bwtwo grafics adaptor is supported correctly The 2.2.x versions don't handle this, right? Can anybody explain to me how to compile the 2.0.35 kernel on Sparc? So far, I only changed the "ARCH" variable to "sparc" in the toplevel makfile, but compilation fails after some time... :-(( -- cya ANDI
GMC

No. You need a block device for a filesystem. A tape drive is a character device. Erik -- J.A.K. Hello everybody, I have a SS10 with a DAT tape connected. Is it possible to put a filsystem on the tape so that I can mount it like a floppy??? If it is possible, how can I do this? Regards, Horst.
Sparc64 kernel on Sparcstation 10 ?????
Hello everybody, I compiled successfully a sparc64 kernel on my SS10 but it does not boot. My question is, can I run a sparc64 kernel on a SS10? I need the kernel to enable solaris binary emulation. The 32bit kernel configuration has no option for solaris emulation. I did this with kernel 2.2.10 Regards, Horst
