Hi,

Just for clarity, is the call for help for sparc or sparc 64, or both?

Thanks,

Chris.

I'll try to help with that. I have an ultra 10 machine that I can use
for testing. However, I'll need someone who could help me when I get
stuck.

Debian is using ALSA, you use alsamixer or amixer.

Kernel sparc maintainer wanted

2007-09-03 Thread Bastian Blank
Hi folks

The kernel team currently lacks a maintainer of the sparc port. There
are now 2 RC bugs open which needs attention if sparc don't want to be
dropped in the near future.

audioctl

2007-09-03 Thread BERTRAND Joël

Hello,

How can I select sound output between internal speaker and line? With
Debian 3.1, there was audioctl, but this program is not provided by etch
or lenny ?

Thanks,

JKB

32/64 bits on sparc64

2007-09-03 Thread BERTRAND Joël

Hello,

I'm working on huge databases on several amd64 server and I have to
change these servers. I have some Sun T1000 servers, but I don't know
what is the performance of SQL servers (pg and mysql) on this arch. My
first question is simple. If I run

rayleigh:[/usr/sbin] > file mysqld

Debian/sparc returns

mysqld: ELF 32-bit MSB executable, SPARC, version 1 (SYSV), for
GNU/Linux 2.6.8, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped

Thus, I think I must understand that max process size is 2GB, isn't it ?
Is it possible to switch to a 64 bits mysqld ? How ?

Regards,

JKB
