sparc64 = sparc: the sparc port is interesting insofar as the kernel

So what does the sparc64 buildd do differently than the plain sparc
  one?

The sparc port has 64bit kernel and 32bit userspace. The sparc64 port
 has 64bit kernel and userspace.

Right. So I rephrase my initial question: Is there a box (or perhaps
a chroot?) that uses 64bit userspace available? Supposedly similar to
the one used by the sparc64 buildd?

the sparc64 buildd *is* the plain sparc buildd.

There must be something different, since the build log on sparc[1]
says Architecture: sparc: at the very start and the build log on
sparc64[2] says Architecture: sparc64

How do I replicate this difference on the porterbox?

sparc64 porterbox

2010-09-22 Thread Damyan Ivanov
[Please CC me on replies]

Hi,

I want to test a possible fix for the FTBFS[1] of firebord2.5 on
sparc64.

However, there doesn't seem to be a sparc64 porter box available.

Is there some way to simulate the sparc64 environment on the regular
porterboxes?

sparc machine for DDs?

2007-03-15 Thread Damyan Ivanov
Hi,

[please CC on replies]

As far as I see on [1], all sparc porter machines are inaccessible.

Perhaps some of you can provide ssh access to one for a couple of days?

I am trying to help upstream fix alignment bug on sparc. Package is
src:firebird2.0, bug is 414709.

TIA,
dam

Daniel Smolik was so kind to offer one, so no rush any more.

Thanks, Dan.
