OOPS when using Solaris compatability
Hi, I tried to use the Solaris compatability mode on my Ultra Creator 3D today. I used the Solaris program 'ufsrestore' because it is statically linked (no libs needed). However the program dies: - napoli:/usr/gnemul/sbin# ./ufsrestore Killed - and on the console i get: - Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference tsk->mm->context = 04bc tsk->mm->pgd = f80024b28000 \|/ \|/ "@'/ .. \`@" /_| \__/ |_\ \__U_/ ufsrestore(192): Oops TSTATE: 80009604 TPC: 00462a44 TNPC: 00462a48 Y: a500 g0: 0020 g1: 0801 g2: f80027e3a230 g3: 0003 g4: f800 g5: g6: f80024af8000 g7: o0: f80024b877e0 o1: f80023693e00 o2: 0007 o3: o4: o5: sp: f80024afb181 ret_pc: 00462ecc l0: f80024b63300 l1: f80024b877e0 l2: f80024b63390 l3: l4: l5: l6: l7: i0: i1: 0001 i2: 0007 i3: 759a64e3 i4: 00c0 i5: 000cbc00 i6: f80024afb241 i7: 00463254 Caller[00463254] Caller[00462fa0] Caller[0046335c] Caller[00459230] Caller[00459518] Caller[010022c0] Caller[01000188] Caller[000ca444] Instruction DUMP: 81cfe008 0100 9de3bf40 02c20009 e016203e d45a2080 02c28 - Has anybody on the list successfully used Solaris compatability? Did i miss anything? Problem installing gnome-panel
Hi, Trying to install gnome-panel on sparc/potato yields fails with unmet dependencies: bern:~# apt-get install gnome-panel Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies: gnome-panel: Depends: gnome-panel-data (>= 1.0.55-2.0.1) but 1.0.55-2 is to be installed E: Sorry, broken packages bern:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list # See sources.list(5) for more information, especialy # Remember that you can only use http, ftp or file URIs # CDROMs are managed through the apt-cdrom tool. deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ potato main non-free contrib deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US potato/non-US main contrib non-free Gretings Heinrich Rebehn "Have disk - will travel" University of Bremen Physics / Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Department of Telecommunications - E-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Phone : +49/421/218-4664 Fax :-3341

When I do a "make xconfig" on my SS20 (Sun4m) i am only offered SunOS emulation. Is this true?
