tried in solaris sparc ldom, created domain, same way as oracle sparc
linux (details in

but changed cdrom from oracle iso to netinstall.iso

Have you seen fdisk shows 8 partitions? All have the same start, end &
sectors counts. Did find out, because auto mount, a dd'ed usb stick.

Sounds like silo is broken. I can try an old 32-bit version of
silo and recreate the image.

Alright, I actually extracted second.b and isofs.b directly from Wheezy
and now it works:

So, this is definitely an issue with silo-git which does not work
really. I will build just an old version of silo which should
work in any case.

Well, the relevant reference are the previous official sparc
ISO images for Debian, aren't they? And the Wheezy sparc image
has basically the same layout, so I don't think the layout
is corrupted.

I just realized. I could maybe try replacing xorroisofs with the
original mkisofs. Maybe the new tools aren't really sparc-compatible.

Sorry to say, but on a Sun Fire V240 with serial console this dies with:
