Please don't number the NMU that way.  1.4.8-1.1 should suffice.

Style nit: $(MAKE) CC=gcc-2.95 is a lot cleaner if you ask me...

I made this hack locally for Jurij Smakov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to see whether
his sparcstation LX would not fail to mount the initial ramdisk in the
second stage of the installation, but it didn't work. I guess it must be a
different problem then.

I suppose this still helps though, as evidenced by the bug reports against
silo.
