That comes from the popularity-contest package, so you can install that
on your sparcs to augment the number.

If you want to edit the wiki page and add the stats about your usage
in the list under the "Users" section, please go ahead.

I note that it only lists 89 sites using Debian-SPARC.

How do we go about adding our own sites to it?

We run it ourselves on quite a few servers (Fire v210, etc.), and
want to migrate our remaining SUN boxen to Debian, but we have obvious
concerns about the level of support for the arch. I even run it at
home on my SS5.

As long as we know the arch is not gonna go away, and will remain
supported, it will be a lot easier to get more people using it. At the
moment, I feel that many people are being put off by the existing
issues with the port. At the moment, installing Debian on a v210 is
painful.

Regards,
Ozz.

The page exists at

Someone should fill it in.

Sparc requalification for Etch

2005-10-09 Thread Frans Pop
There was an IRC meeting on this subject earlier today with a notable lack
of Sparc porters:
http://people.debian.org/~vorlon/20051009-releasequalification.log

Somebody (a porter) is going to have to take the lead on this for Sparc:
http://spohr.debian.org/~ajt/etch_arch_qualify.html [1]

A template for setting up a qualification page is available from:
http://wiki.debian.org/EtchReleaseRecertificationTemplate?action=raw

Cheers,
FJP

[1] This is the most up-to-date currently, but the canonical one is at:
http://release.debian.org/etch_arch_qualify.html
This table should be updated shortly.

Note: No, I'm not going to do this myself as I don't consider myself a
Sparc porter. I'm more an interested user and also have a certain
interest because of my work on Debian Installer.
