I have an Ultra1 box and am using the suncg6 driver, although I am not sure that's the graphics card the system has. But, while booting, the SUN logo seems to me to have much better quality of just 8bpp (I think). So, I think I might be using the wrong driver. Is it possible? I have no documentation, and don't know of a way of getting to know thw exact graphics card it is. Is there a similar command to 'lspci' for the SUN hardware? Thanks again, Ángel

X on Ultra1
Hello everybody, I am using an Ultra1 box runing Debian sarge and it works very well, but I can only get X working with 8bpp with the suncg6 driver. I guess it's possible to get a higher color depth (16 would suffice), but it does not work with my actual XF86Config-4 file, which is attached. Any help or point out towards documentation would be much appreciated, since I don't have (find) any tech specs on the video of this box. Thank you very much and greetings, Ángel ### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION # XF86Config-4 (XFree86 server configuration file) generated by dexconf, the # Debian X Configuration tool, using values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the XF86Config-4 manual page. # (Type man XF86Config-4 at the shell prompt.) # # If you want your changes to this file preserved by dexconf, only make changes # before the ### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION line above, and/or after the # ### END DEBCONF SECTION line below. # # To change things within the debconf section, run the command: # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 # as root.
