Getting it wrong causes a bus error. This could be caused by a compiler bug, or by ill advised forms of hand coded memory access. I've had the problem with other applications. Same here, and in some cases the problems are severe enough to take the entire machine down which suggests lingering kernel (probably framebuffer) bugs. -- Mark Morgan Lloyd markMLl .AT. telemetry.co .DOT. uk [Opinions above are the author's, not those of his employers or colleagues] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-sparc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Both epihany and arora crash with BUS error - but URL dependent. You should file this as a bug. SPARC machines require proper alignment; when this is violated, a bus error occurs. Other architectures have similar constraints. -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 832 623 2791 | http://www.crustytoothpaste.net/~bmc | My opinion only OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b: 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187 signature.asc Description: Digital signature
