du DVD, accès long.

Algo asi:

INSERT INTO OFUSER

Espero solucione tu problema, a mi asi me resulto.
Saludos.

Alguien me podría explicar:

“Moonlight Implementation” means only those specific portions of
Moonlight 1.0 or Moonlight 2 that run only as a plug-in to a browser

false a true... Prueba a ver

 /jonas listmas...@lists.debian.org

Du behöver troligen köra Masquerade, dvs NAT (se Wikipedia), men även dela

 # aptitude

Warning: aptitude not fully supported by ia32-apt-get yet.
 'Actions-Update package list' is broken,
 run 'aptitude update' directly instead.

O sources.list do ia32-aptitude ou ia32-apt-get é diferente do
sources.list do apt-get normal (AMD64).
Aqui o ia32-apt-get e o apt-get são independentes. Fica melhor
para eu controlar.

Olá,

O Debian roda automaticamente o script sarg-reports através do cron.

Experimente rodar.

# sarg-reports

no shell

Você verá as opções deste script.

 (nntp news.gmane.org)
 (nntp news.whatever.invalid))

I don't use primary select methods so I have set gnus-select-method to
this:

(gnus-select-method '(nnnil ))

There are 5 options you can change, listed in the documentation,
but the documentation is unable to tell you how to read mail ...

The Gnus manual is probably the worst I have ever seen. User must first
learn Gnus quite well by using it and then the manual starts being
somewhat useful.

Gnus is by far the biggest Emacs package thus it takes a while to
configure things. Maybe, if you take a look at my .emacs which can be

I have no .gnus but instead I have all Gnus and other Emacs settings

mkinitrd is a standard command on all linux systems, so you can check
its manual page. Maybe man update-initramfs can help too. Best of

trying to boot, except that you want the initrd version to match the
 new kernel version.

initrd stands for Initial RAM Disk. It's a compressed archive that
contains the contents of a small initial root filesystem, with just
enough in it to to load the modules you're going to need to mount your
root filesystem. In particular it needs to have the modules for your
 lvm and any RAID controllers.

I've never made an initrd on Debian, but on Fedora the command is mkinitrd.

SATA DVD/CD-RW still NOT resolved: Please help!!

2009-07-18 Thread AG

List

Over the last few months I have described my on-going tales of woe with
the sata DVD/CD-RW on this new machine. A number of you have made some
helpful comments which have unfortunately not alleviated the situation.
There are also no switches to use when installing to sata drives, so I
must assume that Debian Squeeze is configured to work with sata drives
out of the box, which, in my case, it is failing to do.

For the sake of completeness, these are the issues I am encountering, in
no order of priority:

* DVD/CD-RW can read data CDs
* Can write to DVD and CD using K3B
* Can play DVDs that I've burnt
* Typing eject (no quotes) on the command line will open the drive

But:
* Cannot play audio CDs - Rhythmbox is the only application that can.
Amarok does, but then doesn't update track lists when a new CD is
inserted and I must quit Amarok and restart it for it to pick up the new
track lists. KsCD can identify the tracks but does not play an audio CD
(even when the config file is changed to point to the drive). Goobox
claims invalid device even though when using it on the command line I
set the --device==/dev/sr0 (no quotes) to point to the device. When I
press the eject button, Goobox seg faults. I have tried a number of
other applications, including cdplay, workman, cdcd, and a couple of
others the names of which I now forget, some GUI and some command line.
None of these have been able to play the audio CD, and many have claimed
drive does not exist at all, again, even when manually pointed to it.
* Cannot play pre-recorded (i.e. commercial) DVDs, irrespective of the
application used. To make DVDs work, I must go into the folder and
double click the correct VIDEO-TS file (*.vob)

I have reached the end of my limited knowledge and Google searches are
now simply returning my previous emails to this list, so that is no good

as TS-H653Z and nothing relevant shows up.

If there is further info required, please ask and I'll provide it.

Can anyone here help me? Is this an issue with GNU/Linux generally or
with Debian specifically? I don't think that the drive itself is broken
and nor do I think that changing the drive for something else will work,
because I'd still have to use the sata connections.

Please help!

Many thanks

Anton

TV-out stopped working when trying PAL-{M,N} on PAL

2009-07-18 Thread Martin Ågren
Hi,

I was trying to set up TV-out (S-video to SCART) on my laptop (Intel
GM965/GL960 and xserver-xorg-video-intel) using

xrandr --output TV --set TV_FORMAT PAL --mode 1024x768

and got sound ok and a clone of the laptop screen on the TV, but I
couldn't get any colours. Figuring there weren't a lot of different
properties and options to tweak, I tried some other versions of PAL,
namely PAL-N and PAL-M. Didn't work of course. But what is worse, I
can't change back to my half-working setup! I've run

  xrandr --output TV --off

followed by the command at the top of the mail, and the TV flickers a
little for a second, so some sort of signal is reaching it, but the
image is totally black. The sound doesn't work any more. The verbose
output is

  crtc 0: 1024x768 25.0 +0+0 TV

Running xrandr --prop produces

...
TV connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
BOTTOM: 37 (0x0025) range: (0,100)
RIGHT: 46 (0x002e) range: (0,100)
TOP: 36 (0x0024) range: (0,100)
LEFT: 54 (0x0036) range: (0,100)
TV_FORMAT: PAL
supported: NTSC-M NTSC-443 NTSC-J PAL-M
   PAL-NPAL
   1024x768 25.0*
   800x60025.0
   848x48025.0
   640x48025.0

I've restarted X (and the TV...) and tried re-issuing commands,
googling, etc. and am at a complete loss at what to try next. I don't
have a DVD player or similar, or I would make sure that I haven't
bricked the TV during my experimenting, but this seems far-fetched. I
really hope there is something somewhere that needs resetting. Does
anyone have any idea on how to at least get back to the half-working
state?

Thanks,
Martin

It seems to me that Debian already provides a way to deal with
this. OP can download and install various Debian packaging tools and
repackage the offending official packages to his liking, and use them
locally without all this traffic on this list.

IMO, there is no problem with the experts here offering technical
suggestions in support of really misguided personal projects.

I wonder how many other issues with Debian by how many other users
with special concerns are already being handled this way. Perhaps some
of these other users with their other concerns might contribute
thoughts on their experience going this route.

It's solved.

I've restarted X (and the TV...)

I've rebooted, everything works again (in that the image is black and

So my quest towards colours continues.

sidplay broken since... uh... a long time now... :o

2009-07-18 Thread Dirk

Hello,

i wanted to write a proxy filesystem using FUSE and sidplay (sid2wav) to
create virtual WAV files beside SID files just for the heck of it...

But now I notice that SID playback in Debian/Stable (an older stable and
a updated stable) and Debian/Unstable is too fast and the package
maintainer obviously doesn't check the result of his work.

Anyone knows if there is a fix. The project on Sourceforge seems pretty
much dead since 2004. I've heard new features in GCC4 are to blame.

iptables port forwarding comes to mind, use something along the lines

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -i ethX -d $ADDR_Y --dport 80 \
  -m state --state NEW,ESTABLISHED,RELATED \

for every $ADDR_Y, $SERV_Z pair, IP addresses and FQDNs are allowed

If your FORWARD policy is DROP, you will have to explictly allow
the forwarding you specified in the nat table.

This is likely the state of the local queue, rather than the

suggesting this can be done. I have not succeded at this--rsync thinks it is
uploading but nothing is actually done.

I have seen posting stating that libcurl does not support rsync.

Any way or package to enable this?

Well it shows linux-image-2.6.29-2-686 which doesn't exist in any

It's installed on your computer, so it shows up in the package

How I can fix that (i believe it can be done through a config file)?

Check the man pages for xset(1) and xev(1).

'xset r' enables autorepeating in general
'xev' will tell you the keycode of a key you press
'xset r keycode' enables autorepeating for a specific keycode

On my system, the keycodes for the cursor keys are 98, 100, 102, 104.

Re: ia32-apt-get on Sid

2009-07-18 Thread Goswin von Brederlow
Dave Witbrodt dawit...@sbcglobal.net writes:

I use Sid, and have been interested in the appearance of the new
 ia32-apt-get facility.

I see that ia32-apt-get has its own configuration files in

 /etc/ia32-apt

 After reading /usr/share/doc/ia32-apt-get/README.Debian, I'm a bit
confused on how this new system works

Sorry, I forgot to update README.Debian when I uploaded version
22. The NEWS file is right about dropping the diversions.

 1) The README.Debian file seems to indicate that updating should be
performed using ordinary commands such as

 apt-get update

 or

 aptitude update

However, 'dpkg -L ia32-apt-get' indicates that new wrappers are
provided, 'ia32-apt-get' and 'ia32-aptitude', which makes it seem like
updating should be done with those wrappers instead, like this:

 ia32-apt-get update

 or

 ia32-aptitude update

The later is right.

 2) When the new packages were first installed, my understanding was
that commands like 'aptitude' and 'apt-get' had been diverted, and
running them would actually run the corresponding 'ia32-apt*' wrapper
instead. Reading NEWS.Debian.gz in /usr/share/doc/ia32-apt-get now
seems to indicate that the diversion scheme has been dropped.

 That raises many questions:

Should users be using 'aptitude', or 'ia32-aptitude', or both?

The later.

Should repository servers be listed in

 /etc/apt/sources.list
 and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.list

 or should they be in

 /etc/ia32-apt/sources.list
 and /etc/ia32-apt/sources.list.d/*.list?

The later.

 3) Do the 'ia32-apt*' wrappers keep their own database file for
installed packages, or do they share the same database with the
primary APT system. For example, I have noticed that 'aptitude' still
correctly shows my automatic dependencies, but running 'ia32-aptitude'
indicates that none of my installed packages are marked as automatic
 dependencies.

The database for installed packages is kept by dpkg in
/var/lib/dpkg/status. That remains common for everything. But the
database of available packages is in /var/cache/ia32-apt/ and the
sources files are in /var/lib/ia32-apt/lists and will only bee used by
ia32-*.

I don't use aptitude myself but it looks to me like
/var/lib/apt/extended_states contains informations about automatically
installed packages. With the wrappers
/var/lib/ia32-apt/extended_states is used instead. Does it help to
copy /var/lib/apt/extended_states to /var/lib/ia32-apt/extended_states?

If someone could clear up the confusion for me, I would really
 appreciate it.

 Thanks,
 Dave W.

Goswin

 normally installed.

I want to have gdb step into funcInAppLib(). What should I do so
that single step in main will actually step into funcInAppLib()? What
 I did so far is:
 1) Make the deb without stripping debugging symbols.
 2) Single step main() with gdb, by gdb s command. But that process
skipped stepping into funcInAppLib().

You might want to install ddd (just to make it easier) and use it to
set a breakpoint at the start of the function before running the
program.

That still doesn't guarantee that the function is called. There can be
circumstances under which a function somehow gets optimized away,
like getting inlined. In such a case, you might need to turn off all
optimization when compiling and/or put in some extra code for
debugging to the function being called.

I would change the code like that:

int main(void) {
  int ret;

  ret = funcInAppLib();
  if(ret  0) {
puts(funcInAppLib()  0\n);
fflush(stdout);
  }
}

Doing it step by step in the source like that can make it easier to
trace. Do the like in the function, and set a breakpoint in the
function.

 this:

Huh. Well, I don't know a news server I could use. I googled for some
a while ago and was surprised that they now want you to pay for using
them. Anyway, I wanted to see how useful it is as a MUA.

I didn't have a ~/.gnus, even not after trying to set it up from
withing emacs via some customization page. So created I one:

(setq gnus-select-method
  '(nnmaildir email (directory ~/mAiltesting/Mail/Maildir/)))

That gives me an empty buffer when starting gnus.

Do I need to know some keystrokes to switch to the mail or something?
Or somehow import mail into/as newsgroups? Is there a way to get some
error messages telling me what's wrong, if there are any?

Why would I need primary and secondary select methods (Whatever select
methods are ...)?

There are 5 options you can change, listed in the documentation,
but the documentation is unable to tell you how to read mail ...

The Gnus manual is probably the worst I have ever seen. User must first
learn Gnus quite well by using it and then the manual starts being
 somewhat useful.

Haha, ok, that's a fine manual then ;) Without mail and news, gnus is
not exactly easy to use ... If I could get it to display my mail, I
might be able to learn more.

Hm, when I copy your ~/.gnus, I'm getting an error when starting gnus:

byte-code: Error in ~/.gnus: gnus-select-method

When I remove (gnus-select-method '(nnnil )), I'm getting:

No gnus is bad news
(No changes need to be saved)
byte-code: Error in ~/.gnus: (nnml )

Nice page, lots of info --- but how do I get gnus to work?

I have no .gnus but instead I have all Gnus and other Emacs settings
within .emacs. You have to navigate to the Gnus section.

Yeah, you got an endless ~./emacs with a lot things in it. But that
doesn't say how to get gnus to work, either.

It seems to be fine with the ~/.gnus I created and happily displays an
empty buffer, and that's it.

BTW, is gnus good for organizing mail? Since it's a news reader, it
might not support that at all because you don't organize news. I'm
trying to find a MUA that supports organizing mail --- mutt, for

organizing mail altogether. Maybe I could use it, but it doesn't run
stable enough to try it out. I don't want a GUI MUA, and it must
support maildir. I want to continue using emacs or xemacs as an editor

What happens when you disable generic SCSI? You don't need it for a
DVD/CD drive or SATA disks.

That the drive itself is troublesome is a possibility I would not
exclude. Letting aside that SATA is extremely unreliable, there are
different drives that can have different features and different
firmware. You might have one that just doesn't work well. Perhaps
there's a firmware update available?

Many years ago I had two SCSI CDROMs, same model, same
manufacturer. One worked fine, the other one more or less worked but
couldn't do some things the other one could. --- I have two Maxtor
SATA disks, bought three years ago new. One of them was losing
connection to the controller so that I had to turn off the computer
and turn it back on to get the disk back. I finally replaced them
because the problem got worse. I saved my data on the new disks. That
allowed me to play around with the Maxtor disks and to update the
firmware. Maybe they work now, maybe not --- it'll take a while before
I can tell, but since the firmware update, none of them lost
connection.

Do you really mean ALL. You should start with build-essential

why you do this. You are doing cross compile. I do not see point of
downloading source for all build-dep.

I guess this is best answered by reading CLFS itself. I am no expert.

I want to do this because I need to build dpkg on a CLFS system
(think it as a minimal linux system without debianization), and it's
crazy to download all dependent source packages of dpkg, right?

Not really if you need dpkg as you say for your system. After all you
asked to have Cross-Compiled Linux From Scratch (a.k.a CLFS).

If you are building installation image only, you may not need dpkg.

Anyway, please google and ead things like:

This is likely the state of the local queue, rather than the
network printer itself (but you might want to check that).

Yes, cups doesn't show you the not-local queue. It queues jobs going
to (network) printers locally and shows you that.

Above HP printer probably has a built-in print server the queue of
which cups doesn't show you, either. They seem to have a print server
on the network, and cups won't show it's queue either, at least not
before it's set up to use the print server instead of trying to print
