Question about CDRW

1998-03-15 Thread Alex Maneu Victoria
--IMPORTANT!! PLEASE REPLY TO [EMAIL PROTECTED] , thanks

Hi.

There's a friend of mine that has recently bought a Cd-rewriter (HP
CD-writer plus). How can he configure his fstab to make it work?

And, another questions: are there good programs for writing CDs, copying
things, creating Audio CDs, etc? If so, where can I find them?

Thank you very much. -please answer to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or to

HDDs & Linux (please reply to mansoft@maptel.es)

1998-02-18 Thread Alex Maneu Victoria
IMPORTANT: PLEASE REPLY TO [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello.

I have a doubt. Let's see:

Let's imagine that I have 2 hard disks in my computer, each one of 1GB
of capacity.
Let's also imagine that I want to install Linux & Windoze 95, but I want
the windows partition to be 1,5GB (that is to say, one disk and a half).
How should I partition my disks? (let's suppose that there's nothing
installed). How should I install Linux, after all? Should I create a
partition for one disk, and then on the other disk another partition for
windows and the rest for linux? If so, how could Windows work (I mean,
not to work, but, at leat, to boot :)

Any help is appreciated.

Sound Card??

1998-01-29 Thread Alex Maneu Victoria
<-please reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ->

Hello.

Since a long time I have tried to use my soundcard unsuccessfully.
My card is a Logitech SoundMan Wave. But, to make it easier, let's
make it be a SoundBlaster or SoundBlaster Pro. How should I
configure it (I mean, the kernel, etc.)?

Thank you very much.

Hello.

Just a little question:
Is it possible to access a drive space compressed
w95 partition from Linux? And from w95, access the
Linux partitions?

Thanx

Window-manager?

1998-01-29 Thread Alex Maneu Victoria
<-please reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ->

Hello.

Since now I've been using afterstep. Would you
recommend me any other? I've heard the best is KDE.
If it's so, where can I download it? How big is it?
(I'm connecting at 33600bps or less) (I've visited
www.kde.org and it was terribly slow!).

Thanks.

Parallel port patches

1998-01-29 Thread Alex Maneu Victoria
<-Please, reply to this message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ->

Hi to everybody.

I have downloaded from the internet some "patches"
for my parallel port. The objective is to finally use
the printer and the Zip drive, but not at the same time.

Basically I have 2 questions:
1) How should I "install" these patches and then configure
it all to finally be able to print?

2) Do you know if this problem (or bug, whatever you want to
say ;-) ) is being solutioned in Debian 2.0? If not, I think
it would be interesting to correct the problem, because there's
a lot of people who use a printer and a Zip drive.

Well, thank you.
