Do I have to delete this off from the inetd.conf to get it work? Everything beginning with # in inetd.conf is ignored so _yes_ you gotta remove '#off#' from it. Then give inet a HUP killall -HUP inetd Then try again to connect to port 901 with your Brwoser. Use the IP Address not the Netbios Name ! Alex

I find that if I try to copy (by Windows) a large file from client onto samba network drive, then this file corrupts almost for sure. Can anybody help me? Does anybody have this problem? Yeah but that's no problem of your Samba. This problem occurs even with two windoses ... I think it's win98 that gets something wrong but dunno what it really is ... Alex
Re: are there other file managers besides gmc?
Andzo wrote: FileRunner is very good. http://www.cd.chalmers.se/~hch/filerunner.html Can you navigate FileRunner through the keyboard ? I hate those filemanagers where you need a mouse for every single command. I use the commandline and mc now obut I'd like to have somethin like the windows explorer. Yes you heard right, I like it :-) thats coz you can navigate it with the keyboard. I don't have to use the mouse if I don#t want to. If filerunner does all this then could anyone tell me if it is just me or is the site down ? I can't connect to the server so I couldn't find out myself if I'd like filerunner. Alex
