CTRL/ALT/+|-
Hi all, I am wondering why I can't switch the resolution of my monitor using the CTRL/ALT and + or -. In XF86Setup, I chose to allow this, but am unable to. What would prevent this? I have a Standard IBM 8512-001 monitor. I know that I had this working at one time. Default Window Manager
I have X installed and running fine, using xinit. When I start the X environment, I get no window manager at all. How can I get X to start a window manager by default? DNS Request
I am trying to set up DNS on a local network at home and things are not going too smoothly. I wonder if some one is willing to correspond with me via e-mail so that I can get this thing running. I have been reading the HOWTO pages and although it seems to be well written, I believe it assumes the reader has some konwledge of DNS. I want a simple DNS to run on a two node network at home, A win95 machine, and the linux machine. I have installed DNS, and I can get nslookup to run, but since it is not on the internet, I don't get the output that is in the HOWTO documentation. I can restart DNS, and can ping all the entries in my /etc/hosts file, if this is relavent. Apache Installation
Has anyone else noticed that during the installation of apache ,if you change the default directories for the document root and/or the cgi-bin directory, this is not reflected in the srm.conf file. You have to go into that file, and manually update those paths. While I have your attention, how does one restart the server once these changes are made? can't load library
Sorry to bother the entire list, but I need to ask someone. I loaded some x games and am trying to run them. The error I am getting states as follows: xinvaders: can't load library 'libXmu.so.6' I know that there is a library environment variable that needs to be defined to the /usr/X11R6/lib but don't know what it is, nor do I know how to set it in the bash environment. Any help would be appreciated. If I am not correct, please show me what I am doing wrong.
