Re: Small Open Source Digital Classroom
I would highly recommend to check Jitsi [0]. Offers *almost* the same features that Zoom has. Re: Samsung SCX-6122FN on Buster
Thank you for the feedback, Klaus. After sending previous e-mail, I have found OpenPrinting project. What I see is that the project provides open sourced drivers [0]. I found associated driver under Samsung as "Samsung SCX-6x22". I haven't tried but seems promising. I will give it a try with using CUPS on Buster and write a feedback post in here and my blog. Samsung SCX-6122FN on Buster
Hi all, I wanted to use Samsung SCX-6122FN printer on a Debian Buster server over network. I have checked HP site [0] [1] for the driver, and before installing any half-packaged driver, I would like to ask that is there a package has SCX-6122FN driver on the free or non-free repository? I feel that HP driver is an universial printer driver, and I can find that in the repository. Re: Previous versions of Debian GNU/Linux
I think you meant to say releases. You can check Debian Releases [0], which all stable, and oldstables in that page. GNOME Logs 3.30.0-2 segfault on Debian 10
Hello, A few days ago, I wanted to use GNOME Logs on a fresh Debian 10 installed machine. The package comes with the GNOME environment, so I didn't do apt install. However, what I got is just an error: root@my-hostname:~# cat /var/log/messages ... Oct 27 11:56:55 my-hostname gnome-logs[6048]: Error retrieving the sender timestamps: Cannot assign requested address Oct 27 11:56:55 my-hostname kernel: [31613.658716] gnome-logs[6048]: segfault at 17fff8 ip 555b08fbfb4f sp 7ffcb3f3f9b0 error 4 in gnome-logs[555b08fb6000+e000] Oct 27 11:56:55 my-hostname kernel: [31613.658724] Code: 43 18 48 8b 3b 48 89 e6 8b 50 08 48 8b 00 83 ea 01 48 8d 14 52 4c 8d 24 d0 e8 4d 6b ff ff 85 c0 0f 88 fd 00 00 00 48 8b 04 24 <49> 39 44 24 10 0f 82 8e 00 00 00 48 8b 3b e8 5e 70 ff ff 85 c0 0f ... I haven't touched anything on the system, and I get this segfault. The version of GNOME Logs is: 3.30.0-2 amd64 root@my-hostname:~# apt update ... All packages are up to date. root@my-hostname:~# apt list --installed gnome-logs Listing... Done gnome-logs/stable,now 3.30.0-2 amd64 [installed] I am thinking a few scenarios: 1. non-root user does not have access to /var/log -- which makes sense, and therefore, maybe, GNOME Logs can't read. However, I was working no issue with Ubuntu. Probably, default Ubuntu user has enough *power* to read /var/log files. 2. I deleted a few packages before using GNOME Logs, and maybe, this led to that segfault Thank you in advance. -- Berkhan Berkdemir www.berkhanberkdemir.com
Re: Re: Adobe Flash Player on Debian Buster
We have an internal system that uses Adobe Flash Player, so I had needed to install FP on a Debian workstation. However, I already did install it and will publish a blog post (and/or update Debian Wiki) about "How to Install FP **Before 2020**". The magic was behind that script if anybody wants to use Flash Player before I publish the blog post. -- Please excuse any tpyos as it was sent from my Android. Adobe Flash Player on Debian Buster
Yesterday I was looking away to install Flash Player for Firefox on Debian Buster and followed a Debian Wiki page [0]; however, I didn't make Flash Player work. I also found this script [1], which is recommended in the Wiki page, but instead downloading it, the script just confirmed that I have already had Flash Player. What should I do for the next step--not using isn't option :no_mouth: [0]: http://wiki.debian.org/FlashPlayer [1]: http://github.com/cybernova/fireflashupdate -- Berkhan Berkdemir
