Re: telnet from linux to win95
Are you sure you know what you are talking about? You can telnet to a unix machine from windows 95. You can't telnet from Linux to win95. First of all win95 has no option to accept telnet and it is not a server. You could do it with NT if you have like OpenNT installed ontop of it. Re: Port Scanning
I think you could design a perl script or some kind of script for that if a icmp/udp/tcp is being done to your system at x amount of time you could use ipfwadm to block it. ipfwadm is a very powerful tool. Re: Matrox Millenium II again
I think Xinside Accelerated X 4.1 supports the Matrox Series. Re: Linux + NT
Well, you could install NT onto of Win95. Meaning that you install in the same partition of Winp5 but it gets confusing later on as you might have to install software for both NT and 95. If you want trully NT and Linux. Kill the 95 partion and install NT first on the first partition and Linux next. You could use a program called bootpart that will allow the NT boot manager boot up both NT and Linux. Or in other situation. Split the three partition evenly. First partition Win95, the second NT, and the third Linux. Figure out actually how much space you want to dedicate to Linux. You might not need the full 1 gig, I got my to install with most of the stuff and networking using 300 megs of hd space plus a 100 mb of swap. Looks like it is supported. The only real way to find out is test it your self. Boot up the rescue disk and see what components is recognized and supported. Re: Linux/NT Dual Boot
There is a way the NT bootloader will work with booting up Linux and NT. First you install NT, whatever you want NTFS or FAT16, then install Linux. When you install Linux do not tell Linux to boot up using Lilo. Instead bot of a disk. There is a program called bootpart that will allwo you to boot Linux using the NT bootloader. You have to configure the Linux Lilo inorder to do this. Re: ssh
Actually it does exist. A person here responded to me to look for it on the debian us web page and search for ssh . It shows up but in another non us site. ssh I believe is distributed out of the us. should be in non us debian, stable. The wierd question is that why is ssh outside the us debian package.
