unable to determine which package my bug report should be filed against - please advise.
Hello Debian support team. I am a happy Dabian 9 user. I would like to report an issue I am experiencing. In the past I used a package 'reportbug' to report bugs, but by design, I have to identify what package the issue is related to. I am not sure exactly what may be the cause of the issue, and I am reaching out to you for help to identify what part of Debain might be causing this issue. The issue: I am using a second monitor (external monitor connected via a displayport - LG 29UM57-P). External monitor connected to my laptop - Lenovo T420. External monitor does not display video at the desired resolution and the aspect ratio. Displayed resolution - 1920 x 1080 Displayed aspect ratio - 16:9 Expected resolution - 2560 x 1080 Expected ratio - 21:9 This same exact issue exist on my other machine Lenovo X230 with external monitor of exact same model. Previous version of Debian 8 (jessie) worked with out any issue with the monitor at the correct and expected resolution and the aspect ratio. After installing a fresh version of Debian 9 (Stretch), I am unable to use the external monitor at its maximum resolution. Debian 9 (Stretch) was a full installation from scratch (not an upgrade). All cables has been tested, and hardware issues has been ruled out. I am not sure if I should be filing a bug report identifying Gnome3, or X11 as a cause of the issue or some other part of the OS. Hello Aurélien, hello Wim, Have you tried some newer 2.6 kernels ? Debian's 2.6.8 is crap for me (It's quite unfortunate that it was shipped in this state) and starting from 2.6.11 it gets vastly better. 2.6.11 kernels are available for sid, so you can easily get one for Sarge (it will work out of the box wrt sid/sarge differences). booting with kernel 2.6: server hangs
Hello, I installed current Debian Sarge using net-install onto the following server: IBM 8672-83X (Pentium III, 1 GHz) 512 MB RAM Adaptec 29160LP scsi adapter 18,2 gb scsi hdd If I use kernel 2.4 (2.4.27-2-386) the server boots correctly. But if I use kernel 2.6 (2.6.8-2-686 or 2.6.8-2-386) the system hangs after the following message Using anticipatory io scheduler. SuSE Linux 9.1 works with kernel 2.6. But of course I want to use Debian. Does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem? Maybe it's a compatibility problem with the scsi controller? Unfortunately the syslog is not written if I boot with kernel 2.6. So I cannot post the syslog. Enclosed you will find the syslog, which I get booting with kernel 2.4. Thank you for any ideas. removing white space in viewed web pages
Hello, I was wondering is there anyway to remove white space from pages while viewing them. For example on the http://www.theinquirer.net/ despite my big screen i am wasting over half of the space i usally have dedicated to the browser on whitespace on the side. Is there a proxy or plugin that fixes this and makes the page more usable like at http://www.theregister.co.uk/. I am using konqueror for browsing by the way. hp deskjet 600c please help
Please help me configure my deskjet 600c, I keep finding lists every like here http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/printmodedescr.php#DJ6xx and various listervs but no matter what I try i can not get it configured. I have tried foomatic, cups, apsfilterconfig, printtool with hp 660 hp600 hp600 color and no success when i do autodetect in printool it detects a DESKJET 600 so I am pretty sure the cable works. After doing an apt-get install cupsys cupsys-bsd cupsys-client have you tried going to http://localhost:631 in your browser and configuring the printer from there? (You'll need hpijs installed as well, of course.) probleme reeglage son gnome OSS
Bonjour, Quelqu'un pourrait il m'aider j'ai une carte son qui fonctionne tres bien sous gnome le seul probleme c'est que je n'arrive pas a modifier le volume sonore, j'ai tout essayer, avec avifile le reglage du son n'y change rien, de meme qu'avec xmms, et meme aumix ou encore avec l'appli de la barre de tache de gnome. conseil Modem ADSL ethernet debian
Bonjour, Quelqu'un pourrait il me conseille un modem qui fonctionne avec une connection free ADSL, ethernet compatible degroupe et non-degroupe? Je loue actuellement le modem Alcatel speed touch home mais non seulement je ne sais pas si il fonctionne sous free degroupe (oui je suis pas encore, mais c pour bientot, degroupe) mais FT si je veux l'acheter, me demande 230 euros, un peu cher tout de meme.
