Re: No keyboard or mouse after X starts
I have now solved this problem... After booting a Debian live DVD I compared the xorg.log's and found an anomaly... The machine was still using the old kernel, despite having done a clean install.. and believing it had correctly installed the new version of grub (It hadn't). After running grub-install /dev/sda (and update-grub to be on the safe side) it booted the newer version of grub.. showing the correct kernel version. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". No keyboard or mouse after X starts
Hi, NB: I'm not subscribed on the list so please CC me II have just installed Jessie after using Wheezy for many months. The install completes fine but when X/gdm3 starts neither the keyboard or mouse are functional. If I boot into the recovery console, the keyboard works fine and both are present in lsusb. I have also tried using Cinnamon and lightdm, but this had the exact same problem. Any ideas? Thankyou Alex, I had found a similar post on askubuntu (after I sent the mail). Along with [1], I have added the command to the bottom of /etc/gdm3/Init/Default which seems to have resolved the issue! Choosing/Rotating screen for greeter
Hi, I've recently switched to using one of my screens in vertical orientation. This is fine from the desktop (after login), but currently the greeter displays on the vertical screen but on it's side. Is it possible to move the greeter to the other screen, which is horizontal or rotate the greeter so it displays correctly? Cheers Daniel PS: I'm not subscribed, so please CC me.
