procmail filter and amavis bypass

It allows you to run multiple torrents and save them in different directories too. And most importantly it is small and runs while using only a few MB of RAM. The project page http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no also claims that On high-bandwidth connections it is able to seed at 3 times the speed of the official client. best pactice - apache, rewrite, ssl, virtualhost or .htaccess
Hi, I'm running Apache2 on Debian Sarge and redirect some sites to https. I have: debian 2.6.8-16sarge1 apache2 - 2.0.54-5 with mod_ssl, mod_rewrite I have tryed to redir with .htaccess file and by config virtualhosts. Both seams to work ok, but will be happy for some comments for best practice. Another thing is redirection, virtualhosts and url's. I have not managed to redir http://webmail.domain.com to https://webmail.domain.com. webmail is a virtualhost. But i can redirect to https if I redirect to https://domain.com/webmail. Is that the only way to do it? If so is there a way to keep the url in browser at webmail.domain.com even if redirected domain.com/webmail? I've googled around some and only found the [R] to put at the end of RewriteRule. But some say that it will show only the url typed, and some says it will show the url that user is rediredted to.anyhow it makes no different. -- /ernst-magne If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. According to: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/howto/htaccess.html#when quote .htaccess files should be used in a case where the content providers need to make configuration changes to the server on a per-directory basis, but do not have root access on the server system. In the event that the server administrator is not willing to make frequent configuration changes, it might be desirable to permit individual users to make these changes in .htaccess files for themselves. This is particularly true, for example, in cases where ISPs are hosting multiple user sites on a single machine, and want their users to be able to alter their configuration. However, in general, use of .htaccess files should be avoided when possible. Any configuration that you would consider putting in a .htaccess file, can just as effectively be made in a Directory section in your main server configuration file. /quote Casey -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Best partitioning with dualboot?
Hi all, I've had some problem with my laptop harddisk. It is the partitioning that is part of the problem. I've had this sarge install for some years now, with dualboot with windoze. I think the partition was: /dev/hda1 primary bootwindoze xp /dev/hda4 extended with logical drives /dev/hda5 logical another fat32 partition /dev/hda6 logical / /dev/hda7 swap /dev/hda8 logical /home (the rest of the disk The problem was after I formated hda1 and reinstalled windoze. After that it was just like a partition was gone / was suddenly hda5 I was able to get the / and /home partition with dd and tested to restore the / part, that was OK. I've tested partition with fsck and got no errors so I dont know what went wrong this time when reinstalling windoze. Usually I just install it from the second dos part, start debian with cd and rerun lolo, thats it. No I was not able to read the disk parts with either fdisk of qparted from Knoppix. Anyhow, I deleted the old fat32 part and created a new primary linux partition, restored the image and rebooted from the new partition, then made ext3 filesystem with no problem. This is 6 G of total 40. So, what is the best way to partition the rest this time? Any hints or tips? /ernst-magne If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. On Sat, March 11, 2006 21:27, Freddy Freeloader said: Hi All, I have a problem that just started with my scanner permissions. I can't access it by any means unless I am root. I am running a mix of Sarge and Sid using the 2.6.15-k7 kernel. Running sane-find-scanner or scanimage -L as root correctly identifies my scanner, an HP 6200C. Running the same commands as a regular user does not find scanner. I am a member of both the scanner and saned groups. This has been working correctly for quite some time as I built this system more than a year ago and have been using the scanner up to now. It has been a couple of months since I have used the scanner and there have been a lot of updates since then so I can't tell you what all has changed on my system since I last used it. Some other irregularities that show up are that occasionally running scanimage -L as root won't find the scanner either and I have also had it report a segmentation fault. When that happened I made sure all my usb utilities and libsane were all from Sid and it hasn't occured since. If I try to run scanimage as root from the bash prompt here are the results I get. Job:/home/ffreeloader# scanimage -d hp:libusb:002:003 --format tiff image.tif scanimage: sane_read: Error during device I/O The scanner will attempt to start--goes into it's warmup cycle--but after a few aborted attempts at starting a scan it will quit. good easy antivirus
Hi, I'll need some recomandations/pointers/howto implement this. I'm running debian 2.6 stable with postfix/Courier-IMAP/Courier-POP3 and mail delivery to ~/Mailbox It is both windoze and linux clients that get their mail from here. On linux its primary pine as mailclient and windoze clients are mostly running appz like outlook. It's also got squirrelmail for users to read mail. In addition is it running samba to to give windoze/linux users their ~/home share and apache2 with users own home sites and proftp for up/download. Everything is stored on raid5, sw raid (which I also got some problem with, but that's another thread:)) on different partitions. The antivirus sw need to scan all out and incoming mail, and rest of the filesystem. I'm not a debian expert so a easely implemented sw will be prefered:-). Sometimes takes 30mins or so for message to come back from the list servers. hugh Sorry about this, never do it again. So to my question, I have a debian box configured as firewall with IP tables. Basicly exepting all traffic out and only ssh in. But this rule say Allow everyone access. Her is from the firewall script: snip /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport ssh -j ACCEPT /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p udp --dport ssh -j ACCEPT /snip Why do you allow inbound UDP port 22? I've never heard of any sshd running over UDP. Well...there you see, I need help:) That was taken from a google result, I thought about the same thing, but wasn't 100% sure so I just added UDP as well. Is there an easy way to change the rule so I can limit to e.g : one host? one net/subnet or users? Do you mean you only want to allow packets from a given source? How about the --source option? I have looked at it, that would partly solve what I have thought about how to config my firewall. But if I read the man right, this option has it's limitations. I also looked at mac option, and that will, I think, cover what I thougt of. Let say that I only want to grant access to me, from my laptop when I'm traveling, then I could use that option. Right? As for 'users', what do you mean? You can match outgoing packets with the user running the process that generated them with the --uid-owner option. For non-locally-generated packets, it just doesn't make any sense. Mabye I wasn't clear, I want access to that firewall from outside with ssh, and only me. Then I need som walidaton, right? If I can do that with mac address, that's fine, but I can't limit the access to an IP range/singel addres. Then it woulden't be posible to access when traveling, logging on from defferent locations. Another problem is when I run iptables -L after stop and start, stop and start what? iptables is not a running daemon. I got to files for the firewall, one firewall.rules and a script collecting the rules from that file and enableing ip forwarding. Then I can: start, stop, restart, list. I'll get the same result. Is there a way to flush, or clean up the rules? man iptables | less +/flush done that, the command didn't make any difference. (the answer is '-F'). But really, these are precisely the type of questions that the man page can answer for you in a few seconds. Give it a try. good times, Vineet -- http://www.doorstop.net/ -- http://www.digitalconsumer.org/ Thanks a lot for tips and pointers, I'll know what to look into now:) I guess one or more of these options will solve my problem. thanks /ernst -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Odd. that might be the case, I'm currently running SID. right now all my debian boxes are useing the same source file so I don't know what the result would be with only woody or stable in the source, but I find it very odd if 2.2.20 is not a part of that. Re: adding linux-debian in my Windows XP
Hi I would to a rezising af the hd witn pqmagic, and then make the ext2(3) partitions during the innstall of debian. Then make sure your c: drive is bootable and make at least a /(root), SWAP and /home partition from the debian fdisk during install. when debian is up and running, install lilo as bootloader and add: other=/dev/hda1(that is if your c: partition is at the beginnig of hda) optional to lilo.conf /ernst On Sun, 5 Jan 2003 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi, can anyone help me to install debian in my windows XP. So far, no distinction between the two. I take that back: ati generates two (IIRC) more lines in the X server's output, about module loading. I have with several pc's used different mouses, optic and ordinary with skroll, and it is allways working both as button and scroll. Hi! I've been using Debian for about a week now, and during that time I've been trying to get my mouse to work properly, but I can't. I have a PS/2 Microsoft Wheel Mouse. Since it's possible to click with the wheel button as well as scroll, I was hoping I could use it as a third button as well as a scroll wheel. However, I can't even get the wheel to even scroll, much less click. I downloaded and installed IMWheel, and followed the instuctions, but it still doesn't work. I've also read everything I can find about configuring mice, but nothing has been helpful. Maybe I'm just not understanding the instructions? (This is all pretty heavy-duty for someone who just came from Windows 9x (but it's worth it), so it's highly likely that I'm just misunderstanding most of the manuals.) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Vikki Roemer -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Is this on a laptop too? In Michaels case I think it was a laptop. Mine is a stationary and it works very well now, although in Debian (Woody) it was a PITA to configure. RedHat 7.2 and Mandrake 8.0 8.1 configure it automatically out of the box, in SuSE 8.0 it needs some minor tweaking.
