Good evening.
I about the wireless Internet. USB modem in the tight car in the parking lot

it can be in the car break it off. His manual says that if plugged he to AC
adapter, he can distribute Wi-Fi but I am wishing powered his from the car`s
cigarette lighter, i.e. from 12 V. Hence the questions:
- will the speed drop when wi-fi?,
- a big risk to power the modem from car`s charging for mobile phone?,
-If Wi-Fi will bad distribute, I make his again the modem but after 1-1.5 m
an extension, and his on a clip into a convenient place?
For any advice, offer,warn, thanks.

Hi again.
My the wish is to have littlest OS, for more clear view on it.
If I was not afraid wipe out MBR, I shall have made a very small partition and
was reinstalling the OS from the flash drive in case of errors many times.
Many thanks for consultations, now I long shall not bother to you, (beginning
work will be a dark forest for me).
Thank.

2018-04-23 Thread Gdsi
Hi all.
On my disk is a little free space at which I wish put another Debian, and with
its command line.
A few times I tried doing it but always there was a excess , as the installer
don't say exactly what is into minimal inst-ion, and I'm afraid there's kernel
only.
If I shall not be setting check marks for additional components, will be
there: 'apt', man pages and some editor?
Thank.

I am wishing to insert this UUID in fstab-file.

2018-04-19 Thread Gdsi
Hello.
I had used the advice: "Edit /etc/fstab and comment out (type a # before
everything) the line
which starts with something like:
UUID=3a64784b-9807-446a-bc39-c9011ba6ed6b swap sw", and boot's delay
disappired.
But now I'm worry about absent swap-partition into /etc/fstab, perhaps without
cause.
I did:
--- root@debian:/home/user# mkswap -c /dev/sda3
0 bad pages
Setting up swapspace version 1, size = 2.8 GiB (271840 bytes)
no label, UUID=dc070520-d011-459e-a192-fcf854cc92b4
root@debian:/home/user#
--,
and am wishing to insert this UUID in fstab-file. May I do it?
Excuse me that I send its posts of on separate, otherwise it does not work.
Thank .

Hi all.
I used 'parted /dev/sda2', it is exactly, about 'resize2fs /dev/sda' don't
remember, but exact not did format 'swap' and 'sda2'.
I deleted swap-partition and create it again with 'parted', between
'deleted--create' I expand 'sda2' ( 'parted' not requests from me nothing),
'fdisk' for manipulations didn't used.
Just now:

Problem of expanded partition partially solved. After used 'resize2fs /dev/sda'

The kernel still uses the old table. The new table will be used at the next

and:

be rightly? I don't hurry with this, because it is fog for me. See yourself:

I can't expand the Debian-partition

2018-04-09 Thread Gdsi
Hi all.
After copying a bulk files I felt the limitation of Debian-partition, and
decided expand it, as a space on disk was. The partitions on disk placed so:
sda2-Debian, sda3-swap. I deleted the sda3-swap, and expand sda2-Debian, and
create swap again. I used "parted" with terminal. After all 'parted' and
'fdisk' are seeing increasing sda2-Debian and sda3-swap, but graphical file
manager 'Thunar' don't seeing increasing sda2-Debian (i.e. its status-bar
expose Free space: 733,9 MB) the size was before all changes .Besides this in
the booting time are doing the check of disk, duration is 2 min.If I execute:

---/home/user# fdisk /dev/sda--

there appear:

-Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command--

But after attempts executes command write:

---Command (m for help): w
The partition table has been altered.
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.
Re-reading the partition table failed.: Device or resource busy.
The kernel still uses the old table. The new table will be used at the next
reboot or after you run partprobe(8) or kpartx(8)-
I don't know what may do. Give me any advices, please.

2017-09-25 Thread Gdsi
Hi again. I already had wrote into here
(lists.debian.org/debian-user/2017/09/msg00790.html), but did not may to
explain my problem, because himself was not understanding nothing. But thanks
to the got advices, and numerous attempts to solve the problem I began foggy
guessed about causes my problem.
Reminding: I may not mount usb-stick for copying a data (directories) into the
usb-stick.
Earlier this usb-stick held 'Deb-8..iso' file, and it mount/umoun exactly.

A long time I tried getting rid of the iso file for, using (rm, dd, rmdir,
shred, etc, .), and could not remove it from the disk, but then used the `dd
if=/dev/null of=/file.iso' command, and thought that the iso file was deleted.
But after the correct remark ". Now reading from /dev/null just gives an
End-Of-File.
So an empty /file.iso will emerge." , I think that there is something left on
the flash drive, it's just that usb stopped appearing in "Thunar"!

Thinking that the flash drive was empty, I was trying to transfer to it the new
folder I needed. Again I used a zoo of commands (cat, mv, cp, mkdir, etc. )-
all was not successful. Then I had been using 'fdisk' a long time and with
varying ways (gpt/dos modes, multi-partitions, vary booting etc...).
But after all 'mount' doesn't work, and answer:
--
root@debian:~# mount -v /dev/sdb /mnt
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
   dmesg | tail or so.
root@debian:~#

any (/sdb, /sdb1, /sdb2,..., /mnt, /media..) had been tried.
I think all guess about my skills, but hope to a help.
Quickly I am not write, but will read carefully.
Thank all.
