Re: Getting started with Xen -- Xen enabled kernel for Lenny?
Hi all, I might be rushing in to conversation, but I will try to install Debian Etch and make it Dom0 this very weekend. I really look forward to it - although with a little hope to success :) Nevermind, I wanted wish you good luck with xen, and the important is let everybody here know what happened. I will do that after weekend as well, I will post my experience in a short mail to this threat. Have a nice day all KaiSVK On Thu, 2008-01-24 at 00:24 -0700, Ted Hilts wrote: > Rick > My response at very bottom. > Ted > > Rick Thomas wrote: > > I'm trying to get started with Xen. > > > > I've installed Lenny and a bunch of packages that looked interesting > > and mentioned Xen in their descriptions. brasero - not a bug in unstable
Hi all, I am not sure, If I hit the right mailing list, but: I am using testing and I wanted to install brasero, but brasero is only in unstable, cause there is reported bug against it. The problem is, as the author of the bug report explains here http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=454640, is not a bug AT ALL !!! this only one bug is blocking the way of brasero to testing. My question is, who can I turn to, when the brasero package maintainer doesn't answer my e-mails. Re: GUI programming
Hi there, just a short note: there are MANY popular toolkits, mostly qt(KDE), gtk(GNOME), wx, etc. etc. But, you are probably asking about multiplatformness of those. So let see ... look at all the great mozilla software, they are writen with GTK + toolkit, and as you can now firefox, thunderbird etc. are well running both on linux, bsd(s) and windows - maybe gtk+ is what you are looking for... Although, qt is running good on windows too, I heard Another point is, if you want to integrate your app well in one of those greatest DE? GNOME or KDE? Anyway, it's all mostly about personal taste... So try gtk and qt and see what you like. There is plenty of screenshots of both on the net, and plenty of pros and cons too. At the end I wish you good luck with your programming efforts. Regards KaiSVK On Thu, 2008-01-17 at 17:15 +1100, hce wrote: > Hi, > > Sorry for an off topic, but for your opinion. Re: debian-user help idea
Hi there, I would like to say some of my very humble opinions. 1. We should concentrate our efforts on Wiki pages, cause they seem to me unmaintaned and outdated :/... and on other ONLINE resources as well 2. Think you propose is already done on IRC channel if I understand you right. 3. Maybe it would be good idea to include these links into subscribing/confirmation e-mail message: - link to famous "How to ask smart" HOWTO - link to Debian "Code of conduct" - link to Debian Wiki to solve the most common problems These are only my humble opinions, and probably I am wrong in many points, but I would be glad to hear from Wiki maintainers and all of you as well. Re: How to add a new language layout to keyboard?
Hi, first of all, you should read some of these links: http://www.debian.org/MailingLists/#codeofconduct http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html secondly, you probably solved your problem already thirdly, If not, try to REask your questions under those basic rules Best wishes KaiSVK On Sun, 2008-01-13 at 13:50 +, Pantor wrote: > Hi lads, > > can anybody advice how to add a new language layout to keyboard, please? > > Thank you! > > Andrius > > -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
