Yes there is :) its is called "a delete button", its a very cool device,
it lets you delete mails and other stuff you dont want, i think it also
works with windows, but iam not shure ;)

It's an open list, anyone can post so if you dont like it (not
espacially you Duncan) it takes less time to delete a message than to
reply a whole story about lamers, flamers' OT etc.

right? :)

LANG variable with wine/cedega

2006-01-09 Thread Martijn Marsman

Hello list,

when trying to play with cedega and wine, i often get the error(?)

For language 'nl' several language ids were found:
nl_NL - 0413; nl_BE - 0813; nl_SR - 0C13;
Instead of using first in the list, suggest to define
your LANG environment variable like this: LANG=nl_NL

some things do work with the LANG variabele but some just wont work.

how do i fix something like this?

ive tried export LANG=nl_NL but that didnt work,

can i use more LANG variables?

thnx for your help.

A Digitizer-Card will provide the connection (with S-Video cable for

You get those cards pretty cheap on ebay - mostly a software is included.

I largely prefer ntfsclone from the ntfsprogs package over partimage.
Partimage is nice but the command line based ntfsclone is far more
flexible. Just check out the man page for some usage examples. Here are
some i came up with:

Backing up a NTFS partition into a gzipped image file:

ntfsclone -s -o - /dev/hda1 | gzip -9 -c > winxp_hda1.img.gz

Recovering a partition works like this:

gunzip -c winxp_hda1.img.gz | ntfsclone --restore-image --overwrite /dev/hda1 -

A friend of mine uses this tool on a daily basis to clone a partition to
another disk using this command:

ntfsclone -s -o - /dev/hda1 | ntfsclone --restore-image --overwrite /dev/hdb1 -

Recovering a partition to a file works like this:

gunzip -c winxp_hda1.img.gz | ntfsclone --restore-image --overwrite
winxp_hda1.img -

after that one can mount and browse it like a normal filesystem:

mount -t ntfs -o loop winxp_hda1.img /mnt/

Beat this, partimage! ;-)

The ntfsprogs package contains lots of other useful utilities a XP really
can't do without.
Cheers, P. *8^)
