Grub2 menu font-size
Hi, I am a newbie to Grub2 (v1.96) and I am wondering if there is any way to increase and/or decrease font-size in the menu. I use 1024x768 mode and the letter is, I think, too small. Question about kernel compilation
Hi... I am testing self made kernels on my desktop, using the debian way found in http://www.howtoforge.com... My question is about the name given to the deb package generated... Remove ne"network places" in Network-Manager under Gnome
Hi, I want to remove a network place I made using the network manager of gnome (network-admin). The problem is that when I try to remove it using the same tool it takes LONG. It works now... It was hardware error from the usb mp3 itself... I changed some things in the inner configuration (switched online mode from "media" to "usbdisk") and now it works again... Hi, right now I have metacity as default window manager and I activate compiz doing "compiz --replace" at gnome start... Is there a way to use compiz instead of metacity as default window manager? Hi, recentley my dist-upgrade told me that the directory /usr/lib/python2.3 could not be removed because it was not empty... I actually only have pyhton2.4 and python2.5 packages installed. I have moved the iso file to my/home directory in case I find there are errors in the CD I burned when I come to install the OS. In Debian Etch installations I run the installer and check the integrity of each CD before I install with them. There are some MD5sum things in the repository but I am not sure how to use them to check the integrity of the CD I burnt. Maybe the new distro has been modified enough so it will properly check the integrity of the CD itself. Failing this is there a command that can create a single iso file out of the files that archive manager downloaded that I can then use to burn the CD for this distro? If not I will go back and download it again with wget and get a single iso fiel and avoid the pesky and unpredictable archive beastie. Comments appreciated. gnome-screensaver and flashplayer standalone
Hi, I am trying to make a new screensaver for gnome (gnome-screensaver) using flashplayer (v9) standalone from adobe. I think the option "-root" fails and does nothing showing the error: $>flashplayer -root toystory.swf (flashplayer:14079): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x2e00033 unexpectedly destroyed While doing: $>flashplayer toystory.swf works great! I have made the .deskop entry under /usr/share/gnomes-screensaver/themes/ and the new screensaver show fine (except for the demo) in the dialog window, but after I lock the screen to test the screensaver nothing works (totally blank screen and no animation)... I think is "-root" related... Any ideas? The .desktop file show something like: [...] TryExec=flashplayer Exec=flashplayer -root /usr/lib/gnome-screensaver/gnome-screensaver/toystory.swf [...] Under /usr/lib/gnome-screensaver/gnome-screensaver/ there is a symbolic link pointing to /usr/bin/flashplayer Thanks in advance... -- .-------------. | Miguel J.
