Re: Re:mailer
Hi I've now upgraded Claws to 3.7.10 and the crashing when filtering has ceased. Even when filtering 4 years of mail. I found a problem with trying to upgrade with synaptic as it puts gnome as a dependency. Also perl ! to around this I downloaded the tarball and built and installed, getting the required lib as needed from running configure. However when I ran the thing it would use SSL.:( I un-installed both the built and the old version that was already installed. I was then able to install from testing and as the required libs were already in there was nothing to be deleted as a dependency. There really needs to be a trap put in to stop a software install that will break the system. This seems to a be a problem in ALL the distros I've used where there is a graphic package tool, redhat, Suse, Mandriva, fedora have the same issue. -- Best wishes / 73 Richard Bown E-mail: rich...@g8jvm.com nil carborundum a illegitemis Sent by Evolution 2.30.3 on Debian squeeze amd64 . Unusual events in claws mail
Hi I eventually got Claws installed v 3.7.10, but I'm getting some strange events. 1. The lowercase letter T is missing, every other app its there, including CLI. 2 its saying all the folders on the imap server are unread, Evo and my android phone don't have this problem, With 35500 messages in the all mail folder on the server and another few thousand in others, the action of getting mail takes a half hour plus. 3. I thinks its sending part messages, ie sending after a few words are typed when composing, and repeating the action again and again. I've tried getting on the claws mailing list but mail to the list is rejected, after the list acceptance message has been sent. Is anyone else using Claws v 3.7.10 getting similar effects ? -- Best wishes / 73 Richard Bown E-mail: rich...@g8jvm.com nil carborundum a illegitemis Sent by Evolution 2.30.3 on Debian squeeze amd64 . There should only be about 800 , but there are duplicates of duplicates from its earlier antics. What is the significance of the tick marks on some of the folder icons, might get some clue as to what its trying to do. -- Best wishes / 73 Richard Bown E-mail: rich...@g8jvm.com nil carborundum a illegitemis Sent by Evolution 2.30.3 on Debian squeeze amd64 . Mailers
Hi me again Up to about a year ago I was using Claws Mail which has some very nice filter capabilities, expire on age in folders for instance. I moved to Evo as Claws would crash and freeze the whole machine, That was using Fedora, Has anyone had any problems with Claws mail crashing ?, it would do this regularly when filtering. If its stable in squeeze I might go back to it.as the Evo annoys me with it max 80 characters /line -- Best wishes / 73 Richard Bown E-mail: rich...@g8jvm.com nil carborundum a illegitemis Sent by Evolution 2.30.3 on Debian squeeze amd64 . Hi D6 is shipped with Evolution 2.30.3, the last version I was using was 2.32 and I backed up every thing , but now it wont restore, the tar file is OK, I suspect it knows the version difference and wont play.
