2.6.19 in Etch? (Or installing support for 3Ware 9650SE in .18?)
I[1] have an existing system running Etch (AMD64) on 2.6.18-5-amd6. I currently have a GDT8543RZ SCSI-RAID controller, with six disks as two RAID-5 arrays. I have now ordered a 3Ware 9650SE which will initally replace the second of the two SCSI-arrays. But, i need 2.6.19 for support for this controller. I tried a .21 and a .24 from http://kernel-archive.buildserver.net/debian-kernel/[2] But, both those kernels lead to a hard reboot during bootup (The last thing i think I see is actually gdth trying to load. And i cannot find anything in any log as to what the heck actaully happens). So, what is my best option here to get a driver for my upcoming 9650-card? Okay, I have a "blank" system, running 2.6.8 packaged kernel, I have installed the source tree for 2.6.8 and I am trying to build VMWare server modules. I get the bwlow error, and I Wonder: How do I fix this in the best way? The path "/usr/src/linux/include" is a kernel header file directory, but it does not contain the file "linux/version.h" as expected. This can happen if the kernel has never been built, or if you have invoked the "make mrproper" command in your kernel directory. In any case, you may want to rebuild your kernel. What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include] smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature

Partitioning screwup.
*sigh* I just noticed that i have created 3 primary partitons, and one extended partition. The extended partition holds one logical device (hda5).. Now, what i had WANTED to do was create a extended partition over the rest of the device to fit in more logical devices as time progressed (Yes, there was a reason for that). Now, whats the most painfree (and non destructive) way to correct that, and make my extended partition fill the whole disk?
