modem
I have just installed Debian off of disks. During installation I did set up the basic loopback for my network even though my machine is not on a network. I want to get my modem to dial up my ISP so that I can install some Debian packages off of the ftp site. I can't seem to get my modem to dial out. I'm using the ppp.chatscript with the appropriate modifications but my log says that the chat script is failing. I can't even hear my modem make an attempt at dialing. man pages, etc.
I just used the Debian installation for linux and it was a pleasure = compared to slackware! There are a couple of things that don't work = however. I can't seem to execute a man page session. When I look for the man = executable I can't find it, all though I do have some gziped man pages. The file command doesn't seem to be present either. Can anyone help = me? -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . Trouble? e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
