So, use a resolution with 16bpp or search for > icons with less colors (I know that exist something like 'afterstep > 8 bit icons)... I don't think thats the problem. He is missing xbiff and xload. If you are missing these two files, the afterstep, mailbox, and load graph icons will not show. ITS NOT A BUG, I had the same problem before and it's working fine now. I think these files are in xcontrib and xproc, I might be wrong, just search for them on debian.org -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . You are missing xbiff. xload is a file in the package xproc. You need to install xcontrib (i think) which contains xbiff. You need to install xproc and one other package that inclues xbiff. When you installed both, the buttons will show. newbie question,
Does debian use .Xresources or .Xdefaults at all? If not, what is the debian equivalent? ppp-script problem,
my isp provider is my college, the dial-in pool does not automatically run ppp after connection. Local address is assigned dynamically. I log in (Username: Password are the login prompts), and type "ppp" on a prompt (prompt is "your destination >") to run ppp. So far, my ppp script is not working. It dials (and connects, I think, at least it makes that modem connection sound) but nothing happens after that. I would appreciate any help: dial-up script - #!/bin/sh # # /usr/sbin/pppd :128.110.124.120 file /root/.dunc/options connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /root/.dunc/chatfile" /dev/ttyS2 38400 & /root/.dunc/chatfile "" atdt5813960 CONNECT "" rname:--rname: MY_LOGIN word: MY_PASSWRD "" ppp -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . auto power-down via shutdown -h?
I used to run slackware 3.1 and similar to win95, everytime I do a : shutdown -h now, the computer shuts off (power off) automatically after "system halted." missing cua*
I installed debian but somehow I only have /dev/ttyS*, no /dev/cua* files. I'm also not very sure how to set up my pnp modem. I ran pnpdump to create /etc/isapnp.conf, and uncommented the sections I needed, ran isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf and everything appeared to be ok, but in what script file do I place "isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf" and other initialization commands for it to configure every time debian boots?
