Hi every body,
I have the knoppix CD, NOT an  iso format,  I want to
create an iso BOOTABLE  from the expanded directory.
How to do it please.
The original CD is bootable this is the content of the
CD:
KNOPPIX (directory) ,autorun.bat,  autorun.inf,
autorun.pif, boot (directory), cdrom.ico ,index.html

In order to make a file, .iso image bootable, issue the command


cdrecord -v dev-0,0,0 .iso

adduser  dip

the user is already in the dip group...

Only root access the internet

Hi all,

I'm trying for the last 6 months to connect to the Internet as an ordinary 
user but only root can! I gave full permissions to pppd, all /etc/ppp files, 
kppp, wvdial. I can connect but when I open Mozilla I can't connect 
anywhere. Only root can! I tried to use pon with no result. I'm using Debain 
Woody v3 r2 k2.4.18

Any advice would be appreciated!

surfing as root...

PPPD exit code 2

Hi all,

I've installed Debian Woody v3 r2 and everything works fine. The problem is, 
that I cannot connect to the Internet when I'm an oridnary user(I have to 
become root) Well, i gave full access permisions to wvdial, pppd 
/etc/resolv.conf /etc/ppp/peers/ and /dev/modem wich points to 
/dev/ttySHSF0 (I use the linuxant driver). Now when I try to use wvdial, 
after a connection has been established pppd exits with an error code 2. How 
can I solve that??
