I'm not sure if $4995 is cheap, but I found a Microwave's motherboard with
Harvard architecture and PCI, designed for Alpha 21164. It is likely
possible to put the board inside a usual PC box together with typical PCI
cards. What is interesting, Linux was mentioned (in their advertisment) as
one of OS's the board is able to run. The price I mentioned concerns the
entry level versions (275 MHz). Top model (according to Microwave's
materials) achieves 800 MFlops on 400 MHz. Nice toy, isn't it?

You can find Multias on sale for $800 or less. Check
out comp.sys.dec and misc.forsale.computers.workstations.
You will find used machines as well as mail order houses
advertising in those newsgroups.
