Error log is pretty self-explanatory about which app is causing the
problem. Besides, Acrobat Reader can be running fine in your system but
crashing with another setup or just by using a different GTK theme...
which reminds me, @Jerome, you can try to launch acroread with another
- fresh new- user and check if that works.

let say that I can reproduced the bug on an other Squeeze (amd64)
computer:

Wow... and both are 64-bit installations. It should be interesting to
test acrobat under a 32-bit system.

In both case, acroread comes from the multimedia repo (sid): version 9.4

Sid? Weren't you using Squeeze?

Squeeze with a few Sid packages.

Dealing with theme, the below message gets out on the other computer:

(acroread-en:13593): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon
'gtk-dialog-question' for stock: Unable to load image-loading module:
/usr/lib32/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/svg_loader.so:
/usr/lib32/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/svg_loader.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory

can it be realted ?

That looks more like a warning message but it is curious that all seems
to point to GKT libraries :-?

Greetings,

O.k. I just have installed Acrobat Reader from Adobe site (hey, it
installs without problems using Gdebi) in my virtualized 32-bits squeeze
and scrolling in tabs just works (no hang, freeze no other problems).

Error log is very verbose, though:

http://pastebin.com/kXpMvC5J

Jerome, I am also getting all that stuff so that entries have to be
normal.

I will try to fix the errors as:

/usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so

Jerome
