Install Squeeze like any other OS. Start with the User Manual. Should
answer all your questions. It did for me.

 Thanks Paul and Patrick.

Oh, you're welcome :-)

I have already installed squeeze as guest in windows XP host. Some
teathing problems. KDM does not start. It gives some error msg.

What error message, exactly?

However after login in console, startx works.

I have edited the subject given the nature problem is now a different
one. Maybe a new thread would have been better, though...

For something special? I mean, it works as usual :-?

How to make virtual partitions for root and swap in virtual box?

What do you mean by virtual partitions? You partition the virtual disk
in the same way you'd do for a hardware based install.

 Greetings,

Agreed. I've installed Debian in Virtualbox plenty of times.

 1. Download and install VirtualBox
 2. Download a Debian Installation CD
 3. Create a new VM, and follow the wizard (defaults are generally
fine).
 4. At first boot, VirtualBox asks for path to the installation CD.
 5. Follow Installer.

Vbox will also walk you the steps to create both partitions.

http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2012/02/debian-linux-on-oracle-virtualbox

To funny, I use it the other way around, host is Linux and guest is XP,
IMO the better choice ;D.
