NO THANK YOU to LXQT... If I want to use KDE, then I'll nuke and pave
and install KDE.

I tried LXQT on Lubuntu and hated it. The icon themes suck all the way
around. I cant stand Papirus.

And actually, LXDE is still alive.. It's even still getting updates for
some of the apps. A few of the team members didn't want to see LXDE
die, so they refused to move over to LXQT.

Not sure whether one can already begin to organize funeral for lxde. There
is a new variant of lxde based on Qt instead Gtk.

I presumed this is not possible when I read this thread, hence my

Does your UI let
you simply change the icon of a menu or desktop entry? (Assuming the UI

Anyway, I prefer much prefer this technology than UIs that seem to want

Of course, I can edit entire menu, including adding, editing and
removing directories and menu entries, change command, name,
description, icon, and so on. I use KDE.

The versions in Debian seem to confirm this (just a few commits between
oldoldstable, oldstable and stable), however the libraries doing the

To get my programs to appear in the desktop menu I create a 'desktop'
file in ~/.local/share/applications.

The Arch Wiki site is a good place for info desktop files:

I haven't. LXDE suits my purpose so have no reason to try other

Since you have entered into the realm of grammar and grammatical
corrections...

I believe that the "do" that you originally used, is as correct as the
"DID" that you (incorrectly) corrected - the poster will still mean what
the person originally meant, so both present and past tense could be
said to be correct (although, the use of the uppercase characters, in
the "DID" that you did post, is questionable).

Of more concern, and, something for you to consider, in considering your

instead, should have been "should have been"...

I used to use it, as it was one of the "slimest" desktops and I don't
want a lot of graphical glitz. Then I found and switched to i3, and now
I use LXDE as a backup, in case i3 takes a dump or something.

There are probably a lot more packages like this out there. I use MOC
