if you have the kmail from woody, upgrade it to the unstable version. or
just upgrade all your kde material to unstable.

I also have the same problem, tried deleting the .index files and that
not only failed to solve the problem, but also seems to have made some
messages dissapear... very strange indeed...

I have the same problem, that fix did'nt helps me out. I saw also the
mailboxes in text-editor. I don't know why, the downloaded mailbox
contains random newline chars, sometimes 2 newline chars. An example:

=== cut here :)
Mime-Version: 1.0
Status: RO
X-Status: U

Content-Transfer
-Encoding: 8bit
Message-Id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
 cut here...

Before Line "Content-Transfer-Encoding" are 2 newline (hexa 0a) chars,
and berfore -Encoding one newline. Everything after X-Status line goes to
mail body because 2 newlines. If this comes before Subject header line,
the subject broken. The bug isn't in Kmail mail parser. The bug is in the
mail downloader module? Dunno :)

I have KDE 2.2.1, with KMail 1.2. That pair comes with my woody.
With KDE 2.2.1 it's recommended (i read it somewhere) to use KMail 1.3.
But in woody, KMail 1.2 is the current version. Is that yhe problem?

Sorry for may bad-bad banana english :)))

Re: Kmail bug

2001-12-13 Thread Wayne Sitton
At the advice of a different user I upgraded to the kmail from unstable.
It seems there is A bug in the earlier version of Kmail that was
discussed on the Kmail user list. Since upgrading I have not had the
problem.

Re: Kmail bug

2001-12-13 Thread George Dancheff
I guess that there is something wrong with your inbox
file(s),

cd $HOME/Mail
mv inbox inbox.bak
touch inbox

Then fire up your KMail and it will load both inbox
and inbox.bak so you can select & move your stuff
from inbox to inbox.bak within KMail. It should be
correct now.

I've got same problem but couldn't solve it. I thought that
it probably was a problem with my mail server that cuts mail
headers, but it seems to be kmail/klibs related.

Some help would be appreciated.

~ if you delete all the .index files in /Mail folder, when kmail
re-starts, it will re-create those files correctly, I believe.

Remove all the .index files in ~/Mail and let KMail rebuild them.

Kmail bug

2001-12-11 Thread techlists
I upgraded to woody, and now when I use KMail to download my email, it doesn't
show the headers correctly, most email show "No Subject" and sender "unknown"
But if I look at the headers in vi the info is there.

Anyone else having this problem?
