Note that these drivers are INCOMPLETE, and are only really useful for testing at this point. People needing a stable driver should use the nv driver instead. Although the upstream nouveau drivers provide some 3D support, these packages do not include the necessary files. Users requiring 3D support should use the non-free nvidia driver. . This package is built from the FreeDesktop.org xf86-video-nouveau driver. . Users wishing to install these drivers should first use module-assistant to build the drm kernel modules (via ``module-assistant auto-install drm''). I only noticed it was not installable together with nvidia-glx which makes it quite difficult for me to test it. Version: 1:0.0.10~git+20090701+c0bf670-1 More than seven months old, an eternity for such a fast moving target as nouveau. Too bad, I am really interested in testing it. Unfortunately I do need 3D often enough so anything more than editing xorg.conf each time I need it would be quite a hassle. I inherited 2 Dell laptops and installed Lenny, both have nvidia cards. Even after installing the nvidia drivers, suspend/resume doesn't work (well, suspend works but resume doesn't). I had researched thoroughly a while ago and pretty much gave up on trying to get it to work after seeing so many posts on websites where others couldn't get it to work either. This one in particular has almost my identical hardware http://eclectic.freeshell.org/debian-8600.html#Suspend_Resume. Sorry if this topic has been beaten to death already, I've been on this list about a year and haven't seen too much chatter about it in that time. Mark
