Please disregard this topic.  The problem seems to have solved itself.

Problems with kscreensaver

I am using kde 2.2.2 woody version.  A lot of the
screen savers do not work.  Is this normal or is there
something wrong with my install?  Along the same line,
the screensaver program crashes if I try to run it
from the mainmenu (K-menu>preferences>screensaver) but
it runs if I run it from the control center.
