Make your own audio jack on smith plug and play (without sound :)

So don't make your jack when plug on your computer.

Oh perharps your motherboard has a switch or a BIOS option. Read your doc an
go on.

Also, 'xset -b' does the trick. A truly saavy user will refrain from
silencing the beep, preferring to set its volume, pitch, and duration
to a pleasant and harmonious tone that reminds them how much they enjoy
running Debian GNU/Linux.

   $ xset b

My system is set to 75 75 75 for a quiet, low tone.

Buy some really cheap headphones.
Cut off the headphones from the cord.
Stick the plug into the laptop's audio jack.

That should shut it up for good and not damage the machine.

Unplug the PC Speaker.

If there is no speaker, just a little bleeper on the motherboard,
there might be a jumper you can set (or a BIOS setup option) to make
it use an offboard speaker instead, even if one isn't there. Or you
could just stuff chewing gum into the bleeper.

From /etc/inputrc:
set bell-style none

Then restart bash.

Shade and sweet water!
