The latest final release is Sarge. You also, unless the target machine has no or very slow networking, should try the netinst CDs, or maybe CD1. Unlike other distributions, you don't need all the CDs to install - the packages are arranged according to popularity, so you don't need later CDs or the second DVD. But when I start the download using the Mozilla Firefox downloader, it shows the size of (1) as 362.2 MB instead of 4556480 KB, and the size of (2) as 349.1 MB instead of 4543360 KB. I have tried with other downloaders like wget, Star Downloader, DAP, Internet Explorer Downloader, but they all show the sizes of the files to be downlaoded in MBs instead of approx 4GB each. Maybe the file size limits of FAT32 are similarly in other Windows file transfer programs. In that case you really do need to download CD1 (or maybe a couple more if you really insist) or netinst. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? I am a bit confused on how the hungarian site compares to the etch dvd images that are snapshots downloadable by jigdo-lite. So far I have only obtained etch this way (i.e., jigdo-lite). If one goes here: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/i386/jigdo-dvd/ one can grab the jigdo header template files. When I last did this for etch (november?) I got a good installable first iso dvd image, which is enough for my purposes - it's nearly complete (well equivalent enough to the first 6 or 7 CD isos, and the rest I can grab off the net anyway. :) But if one goes to the other referenced site i.e., fsn://HU - also one finds jigdo templates but they aren't the same size as the ones on the first referenced link. For me, obtaining the images via jigdo is a treat. :) Especially given the fact that I can use the existing dvd as a source and it'll grab only the needed changes from the net, and then I can rewrite the iso back to the disk (dvd rw, of course). -- David E. Also, the file sizes do not match the ones found by the OP. They are close, but not the same. When I tried to do the DL, I got the following file sizes: Using Firefox: binary-1.iso -- 2097.2MB binary-2.iso -- 2097.2MB binary-3.iso -- 959.6MB Using Mozilla-Suite: binary-1.iso -- 2097152KB binary-2.iso -- 2097152KB binary-3.iso -- 959552KB Only binary-3.iso matches the file size from the directory.
