Good :-) In fact, the requirements for both ISO images are detailed in the link you already sent: http://www.debian.org/CD/netinst/index.en.html (...) The business card image is smaller than the netinst image to fit on business-card sized cds. It does not contain the base system, but only the installer: even the base packages need to be downloaded from the net. I apologize to all the listers for my mistake. Don't worry, these things can happen :-) But now, please have some even more patience with this doubt of mine: to connect to internet I normally need `ppp', and to install ppp I need at least a base system ready: so, how is it possible to have an internet connection during the installation, i.e. before it is complete?? Has anyone seen this before? IS there some other way to install without booting from the CD? Read the installation-manual from the debian website. There are a few reasons and options: First, double-check the MD5 of the CD that it is burned correctly. Since you have the DVD then you have a good chunk of the repository even if you need to use an alternate boot method. One way would be to download and burn the netinst.iso CD, another would be to make the USB-key install if the box will boot from USB. If it boots from floppy, you could boot from that. Its all in the manual. Doug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
