Apparently no one has a full solution for it :-( My keyboard is 105-key with German layout on Siemens-Amilo pro2000 laptop. I have built and installed 2.6.11-11 from kernel.org and it seems to have solved it. I just find it strange that this happens on 2.6.8 which is the stable debian kernel version. However, if its only me seeing this problem it may be related to my hardware (running SMP on AMD 760MPX chipset). I've given up and gone back to 2.4.29. I'm going to try get the latest kernel source 2.6.11 and try that. Maybe something has been fixed since 2.6.8. I did try to solve this issue by getting the official (sarge) kernel image 2.6.8-k7-smp but still ran into the same problem. Anyone have some insights or similar problems? This is the wierdest problem I've come across in a long time.
