The problem as near as i can tell regards the fonts. None of the fonts (i.e. Xfonts-XXdpi 3.3.2.3a-8 or the non -XXdpi) remedy this message in .xsesion-errors while using either wmaker .14.1-7 or 0.20.2-2 [excalibur:root] /root #tail .xsession-errors /usr/X11R6/bin/WindowMaker warning: could not load any usable font /usr/X11R6/bin/WindowMaker warning: could not create font set -*-helvetica-bold-r-normal-*-10-*-*-*-*-*-*-*. Trying fixed /usr/X11R6/bin/WindowMaker warning: could not load any usable font /usr/X11R6/bin/WindowMaker warning: could not create font set -*-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*. Do you mean reinstalling xbase_3.3.2.3a-7? apt and IIRC the other access methods to dselect won't install a package if the same or newer version is already installed.
