Gnome-shell 3.0.2-6 (unstable, not experimental) would lock with Iceweasel or Icedove, though Icedove seemed to do it without fail. If I logged in as root on a tty, I could kill iceweasel or icedove, and gnome-shell would resume. (I think I tried Epiphany too and the same thing happened.) I've just locked solid with iceweasel struggling to access a web site, and the whole system (including a copy of Windows 7 running in a VirtualBox virtual machine) locked solid. The only thing that would work was clicking on windows that were overlapping but not entirely hidden, when the would move to the top (but still not respond otherwise). I ssh'ed in from another machine and killed iceweasel and everything came alive again. -- Alan Chandler http://www.chandlerfamily.org.uk -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. According to the bug report this fix is related to it is supposed to have fixed the problem - but it hasn't. Icedove is working for me, but mouse input just hung in gnome-shell when the Alt-F2 (run command) window came up and wouldn't run anything or go away when I got sick of trying. Bumping into the upper left corner didn't do anything, but keystrokes were still accepted. Ctrl-Alt-Delete let me log off and re-login. Icedove is still working, though. I originally thought this was when I tried to print something, but it also happened mid way through icedove trying to put up a dialog box to ask me whether to go to a new folder, when I tried to go to next unread message. This makes me think that the print problem is when it tries to display the dialog box asking me which printer to use. This is Gnome3. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have not experienced such locks in wheezy, but I would try to reproduce it from a clean user profile or even from a fallback session, to discard a gnome-shell specific problem.
