Since b42.4 is part of Woody, and it works for you, what's the
problem?

installed bf2.4 drivers and base system and worked ok, but received
the official complete Debian woody 3.0r.1, kernel 2.2 and it didn't see the
hdd
like mandrake 8.1 or red hat 7.1, however VA-Linux 6.2 based on red hat 6.2
works ok.

Which kernel are you installing?  bf24?  Maybe the driver for that
SCSI chip isn't in the default kernel?
