I had to change from using the uk mirror to using ftp.debian.org due to
needing to install something and the need to upgrade the qt libs was
blocking me :( I shall try changing back now, because my download
speed from this server is pretty low! Thanks!

Typo; should be http://ftp.uk.debian.org, of course.

Hello AG,

So in addition to the grave bugs in apt there are hash sum errors in
qt4-X11 files? How do I sidestep these bugs and try to maintain an
 otherwise up-to-date system?

I waited for a day, and then retried. The files with the hash mismatch
were by then corrected and safe, so I could proceed.

Maybe the mirror you're using isn't being updated, ATM.

Thanks Brad

That's quite possible - hadn't considered that. However, the UK must
still be on the British summer holidays because this has been several
days (better part of the week). I'll give it a few more days and deal
with the backlog. I'll presume that this refresh will also clear out
the old apt related bug.

I'm selfishly relieved that it wasn't something specific to my machine :-)

Peace
