Try a web search for rooting that chipset and CPU and/or version of Android - you'll get identical information to what I would give, as that's where I'd get it. I didn't own the Meiying I rooted and no longer have access to it. You could/should also try the provider of the unlock program. Ok, I will come back if I find something useful. Thanks anyway. ;) -- “One original thought is worth a thousand mindless quotings.” “Le vrai n'est pas plus sûr que le probable.” Diogene Laerce -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Hi, Thanks for your answer. Id like to install debian on a M10 from Meiying : does anybody know how to access the BIOS ? Thank you BIOS? They have a BIOS? Actually I just assumed so. You need to gain root. 1. Download and intall:- http://www.unlockroot.com/ (or a free program with similar funtionality) 2. Hold down Power + Menu until you see dead Android and a triangle I did (2) and am quite stuck there, the tablet seems to be blocked : I can't switch it on again. I tried reset, power : no sign of life anymore. Do you have a clue on what might happens ? 7. Create wiki.debian.org page to share the process. I will, if I succeed. :) -- “One original thought is worth a thousand mindless quotings.” “Le vrai n'est pas plus sûr que le probable.” Diogene Laerce -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". You need to gain root. 1. Download and intall:- http://www.unlockroot.com/ (or a free program with similar funtionality) 2. Hold down Power + Menu until you see dead Android and a triangle 3. Type "adb devices" and you'll see "12345... something something and the Recovery mode message. 4. Connect to your computer and stick a pin in the reset hole (of the pad) till it resets. 5. Repeat Step 3. This time the "Recovery message" is real and you should see your device listed. 6. Install Debian. 7. Create wiki.debian.org page to share the process.
