In what way was she not impressed? If she wasn't impressed the same way
she probably isn't impressed with Times or Arial, then that's fine. If
she wasn't impressed the way designers would like to be impressed if
you showed them some brand-spanking-new fancy font, then that's fine,
too because the liberation fonts are intended to be workhorses for
normal documents.

Or does she think the fonts are technically flawed? That's a different
matter. Font design is, IMO, a terribly difficult art.

its the font that redhat just released, its provides a repalcement for
the sans, serif and mono fonts. I think they maybe packaged for
Debian/ubuntu?

Actually, you can get a tarball with the .ttf files here:
https://www.redhat.com/promo/fonts/
Then install them with your favourite font installer.
I did that and showed them to my girlfriend who's the expert on fonts and
she wasn't impressed. That's a response to Kevin, the OP on this thread.

Freely licensed font are still a weekness for Gnu system. Although how
would you/she compare them to what is available: bitstream or other
fonts? How would this one compare to our alternatives?
