I'm the administrator for the kde.tdyc.com KDE mirror site
at http://kde.rap.ucar.edu/ . It looks like kde.tdyc.com came back
online sometime today. It even looks like there's new stuff there.
I've updated our mirror accordingly as of a few minutes ago.

I haven't heard yet from Ivan Moore, who handles kde.tdyc.com,
as to what happened. But hey, he's done a tremendous amount of work,
of obvious use to all of us, for which I'm grateful. These things
happen sometimes. I just hope all's well...

Well, why is kde.tdyc.com down anyway?
Is the only need, is for somewhere to host?
I have my own company and could set up a server for that purpose.
So what is the complete need?

I second this question. In fact, never mind updates - where should we
direct *new* users who want to download KDE 2.1.1 for Potato for the first

needs to be somewhere official, doesn't there ?

Sourceforge is not the right place, kde.tdyc.com is gone, kde.debian.org
(mentioned in some places) doesn't exist, ftp.kde.org redirects us to
Sourceforge ...

That would imply that I won't be getting any more KDE upgrades until
Woody goes release, presumably sometime in 2005.

latest.

Re: kde.tdyc.com

2000-07-29 Thread Barry Samuels
One thing puzzles me about the Potato KDE list.

If I try to upgrade to the Potato KDE packages I find that some
of the packages use qt1 and some use libqt1. Because qt1 and
libqt1 are incompatible this causes DSelect to automatically mark
some packages for removal that I want to keep.

Because of this I have stayed with the Slink versions.

Is there any way to upgrade and keep all the KDE packages that I
have currently installed?
