If you have a two-button mouse, you need to make sure you have Emulate3Buttons turned on in your XF86Config file, and then use both buttons together to simulate the middle mouse button you're lacking. you using a 3 button mouse? X uses the middle button for paste. at least it does on my slink system and these IRIX boxes i got here. i used X without being able to paste for 2 years, man when i foundout that the middle button pasted..WOAH I WAS HAPPY!
